Top holiday destinations in Europe for 2016

Thursday, March 24, 2016

If you're looking to get away this year but can't decide where you should be aiming, don't worry - we're here to help. We've handpicked three great destinations to help you on your way.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Dubrovnik is the perfect destination for those looking for a mix of sun, sea, and city. The pedestrianised old town has a vast number of eateries specialising in seafood, and if you head down to the coast, you can paddle in the crystal waters of the Adriatic Sea. To avoid the high season, book your holiday in May to June or September to October.

Copenhagen, Denmark

Want to try something a little different? Copenhagen is the place to be. The city's cobbled streets can be explored by bike, and you must stop by the statue of The Little Mermaid, from the tale by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. Tivoli Gardens provides old fashioned fun, and it's easy to lose an evening there under the glow of the fairy lights. For the best weather, book between June and August.

Dublin, Ireland

Perfect for a weekend break and only a short flight away, Dublin is home to the Guinness Storehouse, where you can discover what it takes to make the world famous beer. There has never been a better time to visit, with 2016 marking the centenary of the Easter Rising. Follow the Rebellion Trail to learn more about the events of 1916. Dublin is most popular in the summer months, but temperatures are mild in May and September too.

Whether you're travelling as a family, group, couple, or single explorer, these destinations have lots to offer. Make sure you tell everyone at home about the fun you're having by taking advantage of cheap calls to Pakistan, Nigeria and Hungary with one of our free SIM cards.
