How to activate mobile data on Lyca Mobile?

Visit our Mobile Web Settings page to find out how to automatically set up mobile data on your phone. You’ll need to know the brand and model of your device.

To enable Lyca Mobile 4G mobile data on an iPhone:

1. Open Settings on your iPhone 2. Tap Mobile Data 3. Select “Network Selection” or “Mobile Data Network” 4. Input your APN settings:

APN: data.lycamobile.co.uk Username: Password: MMS APN: data.lycamobile.co.uk MMSC: http://lyca.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc

Once you’ve updated your APN settings, restart your iPhone and you’ll be able to use 4G where it’s available.

To enable 4G on Android, use the same APN settings as for iPhone.

How can I add more data to my data-only SIM plan?

In need of a little extra data on top of your data-only SIM plan? Adding data to a plan is simple with Lyca Mobile Data Bolt Ons.

All you need to do is select the amount of extra data you need from our selection of Data Bolt Ons. Currently, you can add 1GB, 3GB, 5GB, or 10GB of mobile data to your existing plan.

When you buy a Data Bolt On, the extra data will be immediately added to your existing allowance. The data will last until the end of your current plan.

If you’ve used up all of your data allowance, you can continue to use data without buying a Data Bolt On, but you’ll be charged at our Standard National Pay As You Go Rates.

Can I use my international SIM card abroad?

Lyca Mobile international SIM cards are designed to reduce the cost of making calls to international landlines and mobiles from within the UK.

All Lyca Mobile SIM cards offer free roaming in the EU. When calling from outside the UK and EU, you’ll be charged for calls, texts and data based on our international roaming rates.

How do I make an international call?

Calling international numbers from the UK is simple and straightforward, whether you’re calling landline numbers or mobiles.

To call an international landline: 1. Dial 00 2. Dial the country code for the location you’re calling 3. Dial the area code without the first 0 4. Finish dialling the phone number 5. Press call

It’s essentially the same for calling an international mobile number: dial 00 followed by the country code, followed by the mobile number.

Where can I buy a Lyca Mobile SIM card?

You can order a free Lyca Mobile SIM card here on our website, or from any retail outlet that stocks our SIMs. When ordering online, simply fill out the form to sign up, and your SIM card should arrive within five business days.

Then, you can top up your Lyca Mobile SIM card online, or in person by buying a top-up voucher from a Lyca Mobile retailer.

Can I transfer my number from my current network to a Lyca Mobile UK SIM?

Yes, it’s easy to transfer your mobile number from a different network to a Lyca Mobile UK SIM card.

You’ll first need to obtain a Porting Authorisation Code (PAC code) from your current mobile provider. You can do so by calling your provider, but if you want to avoid a customer retention pitch, you can use the text-to-switch service and text PAC to 65075. You should receive a reply with your PAC code within one minute.

PAC codes are valid for 30 days, so if you don’t sign up for your Lyca Mobile SIM within a month, you’ll need to obtain a new code.

Next, order your Lyca Mobile SIM card online from our website.

Once you have your SIM, fill out our Online Porting Form and you can then expect your existing mobile number to be ported to your new SIM within the next two working days.

Alternatively, you can contact Customer Services on 322 from a Lyca Mobile number or 0207 132 0322 from any other number. Provide your SIM and a PAC code from your previous provider, and your Customer Service representative will complete the porting process.

Do UK SIM-only plans have an expiry date?

Yes, Lyca Mobile UK SIM-only plans may have an expiry date unless you’re using a Pay As You Go SIM.

The expiry date of your SIM-only plan will depend on the specific plan you’ve chosen and the specific date your plan was activated.

Lyca Mobile Pay Monthly SIM-only deals are available as three-month, 12-month or 30-day rolling contracts.

You can view the expiry date for your SIM plan by visiting our Plans page and locating your plan, or by viewing the Terms and Conditions of your plan.

If you’re on a 30-day plan, unless you’ve cancelled auto-renewal, then your plan will renew automatically on its expiry date.

What's the difference between a Pay Monthly and a Pay As You Go SIM?

In a Pay Monthly plan, you’ll receive a set allowance of calling minutes, texts, and mobile data that’s valid for 30 days before the plan automatically renews. A Pay Monthly plan runs for a set period of months specified in the plan, typically three months or a year.

When you enter a Pay As You Go plan, you simply receive a SIM card that you can add credit to yourself.

The credit you add goes towards any calls you make, texts you send or data you use, and you’ll be charged based on our standard Pay As You Go rates. You can also buy a plan offering calls, texts and data for 30 days using Pay As You Go credit. You can top up your credit whenever you like, either online or in-store.

Can I swap from a Pay As You Go to a Pay Monthly SIM?

You can buy a Pay Monthly SIM so long as you don’t have a plan currently active on your SIM.

If you’re only using top-up credit on your Pay As You Go SIM, you can buy a Pay Monthly SIM using the existing credit in your balance.

If you currently have a 30-day mobile plan active, you’ll need to wait for the plan to expire before starting a Pay Monthly plan.

My Pay Monthly SIM has been damaged, lost or stolen. What should I do?

If your SIM card has been damaged, lost or stolen, please call Customer Services, who will arrange for a new SIM card to be sent to you.

You can reach Lyca Mobile Customer Services by dialling 322 from a Lyca Mobile number, or 0207 132 0322 from another network phone.

Your existing Lyca Mobile mobile number will be transferred over to your replacement SIM card within 24 business hours.

I've activated a Pay Monthly SIM and have used all the allowance; can I activate the same plan again?

Currently, you can only activate the same Lyca Mobile Pay Monthly plan once a month. If you’d like to continue using the same plan, you’ll need to wait for your current plan to renew at the end of the month.

In the meantime, if you’re running low on mobile data, you can buy one of our Data Bolt Ons to give yourself a boost, or top up credit to make calls and send texts on our Pay As You Go rates.

Other usages will be charged at standard rates. Allowances are valid for 30 days from the date of purchase. 4G availability is subject to the handset model and location. Customers can have only one bundle within the 30days from the bundle with Unlimited data (Go Endless, Go Endless Plus etc). Any remaining allowance after 30 days will not be carried over into the next 30 day period should the customer repurchase their plan. In plan, data usage is rounded up and charged in 20KB increments. The discounted price is valid for first month only. Second purchase/ auto renewals will be charged with standard price. EU data roaming gap 20GB applicable for the plan. Fair Usage Policy for Lyca Mobile UK Plan Unlimited Plus (plan with unlimited data): to protect our network stability and ensure its availability for all of our customers, usage of data on Go Endless Plans and Plus (plan with unlimited data): is subject to this policy in addition to the Lyca Mobile terms and conditions. If we find there to be excessive usage of data by a customer, we reserve the right to take action which may include, but shall not be limited to, notifying the customer that their usage falls outside this Fair Usage Policy and then charging the customer at our standard rates for future data usage and throttling the speed of their internet connection, or disconnection. Data usage will be deemed “excessive” and in violation of this Fair Usage Policy if it exceeds 150 GB twice within any six-month period.

Acceptable Usage PolicyIf the use of any plan that includes ‘unlimited’ calls or texts provided as part of the service exceeds the amount reasonably expected of a person using the service for personal purposes. Fair Use Policy All Lyca Mobile products, such as plans, are for personal non-commercial use only (see the relevant terms and conditions applicable for each product along with each product listed).Personal use means reasonable use of our communication services, such as voice calls, SMS & data, to fulfil individual needs. Any other usage is prohibited. The policy applies to:

  • 1. Airtime allowances, which Lyca Mobile gives for free in the form of free calls, free SMS, free data, free credit or any other relevant means
  • 2. Services, where there is a fixed charge for the allotted usage of allowances such as plans, planes, and add-ons for a defined period of time

A Fair Use Policy is applied where:

  • 1. Your usage on a promotion is unreasonable
  • 2. Your use of data services is non-consistent with other users, which would in turn affect the quality of service experience for the majority of customers
  • 3. Your usage of our services is for illegal activities

Some of the unreasonable usages includes, but is not limited to:

  • Mass distribution of Lyca Mobile services to a large number of people. E.g. unauthorised SMS campaigns.
  • Re-distribution of Lyca Mobile services without our formal consent to make income.

IIf your excessive or unreasonable usage continues, Lyca Mobile may, without further warning, suspend or limit your service or even terminate your agreement in accordance with our general terms and conditions. Lyca Mobile Pakistan plan (‘the offer’) inclusive allowances are for calls from the UK to standard Pakistan landline and mobile numbers. Other usages will be charged at standard rates. The offer is valid for 30 days from the date of purchase. A customer may only have one plan on their account and may not buy another from the same plan during the 30 day validity period. The plan is subject to Auto-renew after 30 days.Lyca Mobile reserves the right to replace or amend the offer, these terms and conditions or to withdraw the offer at any time on reasonable notice. Note that promotional credit (credit which Lyca Mobile has given to customers for free) cannot be used towards purchasing a plan. The offer is for non-commercial, private, personal use only – Lyca Mobile reserves the right to withdraw or suspend the offer or to disconnect you if we suspect that the offer is being used for commercial purposes, for conferencing, if it is not being used in a handset (in a SIM box for example), or if it is being used for tethering. Acceptable Usage Policy:

If the use of any plan that includes ‘unlimited’ calls or texts provided as part of the service exceeds the amount reasonably expected of a person using the service for personal purposes. Fair Use Policy:

All Lyca Mobile products, such as plans, are for personal non-commercial use only (see the relevant terms and conditions applicable for each product along with each product listed). Personal use means reasonable use of our communication services, such as voice calls, SMS & data, to fulfil individual needs. Any other usage is prohibited. The policy applies to: 1. Airtime allowances, which Lyca Mobile gives for free in the form of free calls, free SMS, free data, free credit or any other relevant means. 2. Services, where there is a fixed charge for the allotted usage of allowances such as plans, planes, and add-ons for a defined period of time. A Fair Use Policy is applied where:

  • Your usage on a promotion is unreasonable.
  • Your use of data services is non-consistent with other users, which would in turn affect the quality of service experience for the majority of customers.
  • Your usage of our services is for illegal activities.

Some of the unreasonable usages include, but is not limited to:

  • Mass distribution of Lyca Mobile services to a large number of people. E.g. unauthorised SMS campaigns.
  • Re-distribution of Lyca Mobile services without our formal consent to make income.
